Membership Policies and Terms

What are the different types of memberships?

The NOAC offers Individual and Family Memberships.

What are the requirements for a Family Membership?

Family is a person and their spouse, with or without dependent children aged 12-19, and single parents with dependent children aged 12 to 19. When a child turns 20, they shift to a regular membership.

Can minors have membership at the club?

Children between the ages of 13 to 19 can be added on to their parents’ membership. At the age of 20, the membership will automatically be converted to an Individual Membership.

What is the term of a membership?

All memberships are annual. All memberships will renew on the anniversary date automatically for another full year.

What is the cancellation policy?

Memberships can only be canceled on a yearly basis. Members are required to give a 30-day written notice prior to their anniversary date for cancellation. There is no cancellation fee at the end of your term

What is the relocation policy?

A member can cancel their membership if they move 60 miles outside of New Orleans. Proof of relocation can be in the form of a utility bill, lease, or home purchase. There's a cancellation fee of $75 for individuals or $100 for couples.

What is the freeze policy?

Membership can be frozen at the club for 1 to 6 months in monthly increments. A one-month charge applies, with a credit on reactivation. Non-resident members can't freeze memberships.

What age are kids allowed into the club?

Children must be accompanied by a parent at all times. The minimum age for children during the week is 13 and 7 on the weekends.

Regular Schedules and Holiday

What are the regular hours of the gym?

The gym is open Monday thru Friday, 5:30 am – 9 pm; Saturday and Sunday, 8 am – 6 pm.

What are the holidays at the gym?

The club is closed on New Year’s Day, Mardi Gras Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. Holiday hours are used on Lundi Gras, New Year’s Eve, and Christmas Eve. The club will close at 2 pm on those holidays.

Billing and Payments

Does the club require billing information to be on file?

Yes. Every member is required to submit an Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) for billing purposes. This EFT can be in the form of a checking account, credit card or debit card.

When does the billing take place?

Monthly statements, processed around the 25th, are mailed or emailed to members with charges for the upcoming month's dues and the previous month's payment. Disputes must be reported to the billing department within 45 days of the statement.

When will the charge occur?

Monthly dues are processed on the first of each month using the member's EFT. Prepayment options are available if completed before the first of the month to prevent automatic drafts.

Why did I get asked for new billing information?

Billing information may need updating due to an expired credit card or a declined charge. In such cases, members should update billing information and make a payment to bring their account up to date.

Referral and Guest Policies

Does the club have a Referral Program?

Certainly. Referring a new member entitles you to the following credits:

  • Half-month credit for referring a Second Family Member
  • One-month credit for referring a Regular or Student Member
  • One and a half months credit for referring to both a Regular Member and a Second Family (Spouse) Member.

What is the guest policy?

Members are allowed one free guest per month. Each additional guest visit will be $10 per visit. Guests can visit up to 5 times annually. No members under 15 can bring guests, and guests must be accompanied by the member.

Facilities & Equipment

Does the club have parking for members?

Four secured lots are available for member use while at the club. Members must display a parking sticker with their member number on the windshield. Violating cars will be booted at the owner's expense.

How can I contact a personal trainer?

You can check out the personal trainer page on our website. If you need help connecting with a trainer, you can email jneil@neworleansathleticclub.com

Are there Lockers Available?

Yes. Permanent lockers are available for members, to be billed on an annual basis, and the fees are non-refundable. In addition, there are daily lockers available at no charge, but they must be cleaned out daily. Moreover, all lockers have built in locks so there is no need to bring their own locks.

Does the club provide towels?

There are towels available to both members and guests for a charge. The charge is either on a per towel basis, or a monthly service.

What are the details on the pool?

The 20-yard pool, maintained at approximately 83 degrees year-round, features five lanes. During class hours, it's designated for free swim, while lap swim is available during other gym hours.
