Reopening Guidelines

Update 5/29/20

Dear Members,

We are excited to be reopening our doors in just a few days on June 1. We are continuing to modify our guidelines as circumstances dictate as we want you to have the safest environment possible to enjoy.  For your health and the health of others, below are some of the things that we ask of you.

  • Upon entering the club to the left before you check in there will be a laser thermometer and some wipes for you to use to wipe the handle before use. Please push the trigger button on the thermometer if it is not on. Turn the thermometer toward your forehead and holding it 2 inches away, press the trigger button. Turn the thermometer around to see your temperature. If you have an elevated temperature of 100 or more, for yours and other’s health, please refrain from using the club today.
  • If you do not have a mask or forget your mask, we will provide one free to you for the first 2 weeks.
  • If you are engaging in active cardio or weight physical fitness activity, you may remove your mask during this time; but it must be put back on when you are finished working out and/or walking from one area to another.
  • There are small baskets containing wipes and sanitizer near all machines in all the rooms for members to wipe down their machines, which is required, after use.
  • Signage with room occupancy limits have been placed throughout the club to assure that we abide by all city and state guideline. These limits are there to protect you, your family, and friends. Please adhere to the occupancy signs placed for each room.
  • Equipment has been spread out and/or disabled to ensure a minimum of 6 feet distance while in use. If the equipment has been disabled, please do not try to engage it.
  • Club hand weights will still be available for usage throughout the club. Please wipe them down with our disinfectant after use.
  • Group on-line classes will continue streaming live, but by order of the city group classes are not allowed. Classes will be streamed live, but no one will be allowed to enter during this time.
  • By order of the city, locker rooms, saunas, steam rooms and the shower area will be initially off limits. As a result, the pool will be temporarily closed.

  • When the city allows usage of the shower areas, 3 people will be limited in the pool at one time, 1 per lane, with ropes dividing the lanes
  • We will continue to closely monitor our pool chemicals even while the pool is temporarily shut down.
  • Personal training is allowed with proper social distancing. Group training is limited to 5 people plus the trainer with proper distance.
  • For the time being, the club will be strictly a Members Only club. There will be no guests of members or hotel visitors. And the bar will also be temporarily closed by order of the city.

Thanks,

NOAC Management

Update 5/13/20

Dear Members,

We hope that all of you are doing well!!

As you know, the mayor announced yesterday that gyms can re-open this Saturday, May 16th. After thinking long and hard about it, we have decided to reopen on Monday, June 1st at 5:30 am and strictly follow Mayor Cantrell’s Safe, Phased Reopening Guidelines. Dues will not commence until the beginning of July.

While we have been closed a small crew meticulously cleaned all aspects of the building and machines using EPA-registered disinfectants and cleaning products that are effective against coronavirus and a wide variety of other germs and viruses. We will do another once over before re-opening.

The City of New Orleans Guidelines stress the importance in this first phase that everyone must wear a face covering in public and that everyone must continue to follow the practice of social distancing.

We will strictly require that all our members adhere to these policies and ask you to help us with this.

Precautions we have taken and are taking:

  • Everyone is required to wear a mask upon entering the NOAC and when not physically in the process of working out. You must have a mask on your person the entire time you are in the club.
    • If you do not have a mask or forget one, we will provide one free to the members for the first 2 weeks.
    • If you are engaging in physical fitness activity you may remove your mask during this time, but must put it back on when you are finished and/or walking from one area to another
  • We will be conducting multiple hourly cleanings throughout the day of all areas of the club including all often-touched hard surfaces like door handles, countertops, handrails, fitness equipment etc. We have also over-stocked additional cleaning supplies to ensure there are no interruptions.
  • The Bienville Room has been expanded into a new workout area with multiple pieces of equipment generously spaced throughout so that every member has plenty of space for their individual workout.
    • The relocating of this equipment created greater distance in other work out areas of the club — thus creating more room for your individual workout.
    • The Bienville Room is generously air conditioned to assure your maximum comfort.
  • There are small baskets containing wipes and sanitizer for each member’s usage either before or after the workout near all machines in all the rooms.
  • Club hand weights will still be available for usage throughout the club. Please wipe them down with our disinfectant after use.
  • Group on-line classes will continue streaming live, but by order of the city they will not be held in the club.
  • By order of the city, locker rooms, saunas, steam rooms and the shower area will be initially off limits. As a result, the pool will be temporarily closed.
  • The bar will also be temporarily closed by order of the city
  • 3 people will be limited in the pool at one time, 1 per lane, with ropes dividing the lanes when the city allows usage of the shower areas.
  • We will continue to closely monitor our pool chemicals even while the pool is temporarily shut down.
  • Personal training is allowed with proper social distancing. Limit group training to 5 people plus the trainer with proper distance.
  • For the time being, the club will be strictly a Members Only club. There will be no guest of members or hotel visitors.

What you can do to help protect yourself and others:

  • Wash your hands often and/or use hand sanitizer often.
  • Use your key tag to check in
  • Please abide by all signage throughout the club.
  • Upon entering, you will see that there is directional signage to avoid cross trafficking.
  • Please wipe down equipment after use.
  • Stay 6 ft away from other people.
  • If you feel sick or have been around someone who is sick, please stay home as to not infect others.

We are here for you and are doing everything that we can to protect the health of you and all our members!! Let us all work together during this difficult time!!!!

We may be making intermittent adjustments in policy as circumstances dictate. If you see something that we have missed, please let us know so that we can correct it.

We appreciate your understanding and are very much looking forward to seeing you back at the club for our regular scheduled operating hours!!!!!!

Thanks,

NOAC Management
